What is Sibéal?
Sibéal is Ireland’s only network for postgraduate students working in the field of gender studies across diciplines. The committee was formed in 2006 by Susan Cahill and Claire Bracken, postgraduate students at that time who were responding to the great need for such an organisation. Four years later Sibéal continues to create networking opportunities for postgraduate students, and our current committee is enthusiastic to continue our dedication to fellow students, encouraging members to share their work and avail of the variety of opportunities in this field. The board members organise an annual conference for members, update and maintain the site, are involved in various workshops at their home institutions and send the monthly newsletter to members.
